Terms of use

Plain language, and meant to be read. If something here is unclear, ask — that is a fair question and the answer will improve this page.

Your campaigns are yours

Everything you write — characters, notes, tags, whole campaigns — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it. It is not sold, not shared with anyone outside the people you invite to your table — other than the service providers listed in the privacy policy, who host it and cannot use it for anything of their own — and not used to train anything.

You can take it with you

A GM can export a campaign's content at any time from Import & Export, as one file. If we ever have to shut the app down, you will get at least 30 days' notice, and export will keep working for all of it.

Accounts

You need to be 13 or older. One person, one account; keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so if you think somebody else has got into it, tell us and we will help.

What costs money

Making an account is free. Joining a campaign is free. Making and saving a character is free, always. A GM can run up to 1 of their own campaigns for free; going past that is what the one-time unlock is for — a single payment, not a subscription, with the current price shown at the point you would pay it.

Using it decently

Do not use the app to harass anybody, to store content that is illegal where you are, to break into other people's accounts or campaigns, or to hammer the servers. If you do, the account goes.

What we do not promise

The app is provided as-is. It is built and run by one person, with real care but no guarantee that it will be available at any particular moment, or that it will never lose data. Keep your own exports of anything you would be upset to lose — that is honest advice, not a disclaimer.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using the app. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot legally be limited.

Ending things

You can stop using the app whenever you like, and ask for your account to be deleted at hello@actvi.grailbot.com. We may close an account that breaks the section above, and will say why.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, it will be announced in the app before the change takes effect.
